This differentiated set of algebra equations allow students to solve and color by number. They can then cut them out if you'd like a set of holiday classroom decorations!

In this Christmas math activity for Pre-Algebra or Algebra 1, students solve 15 equations and color the ornaments according to the solutions (like a color-by-number). Each student needs one “Equation Ornaments” coloring sheet and one “Problem Set” sheet.

This activity includes a choice of three different sets of equations.

• Set A is the easiest and contains a variable only on one side of the equation.
• Set B has a medium difficulty level with variables on both sides of the equation.
• Set C is the most challenging.

Choose the set that is best for the ability level of your class or use a combination of the three for differentiation.

Since the results are all the same, you can distribute a variety of different problem sheets even within the same room to differentiate according to need, and students will all get the same answers and have the same colored ornaments at the end.

These look great cut out as a classroom decoration when finished.
